From 2018 to 2020 I studied classical realism in Florence, Italy. The following works represent these academic studies. After 4 terms at the Angel Academy I sought out the instruction of Sergey Chubirko and joined a handful of other students, attending his private studio. We typically worked a 70 hour week; 20 hours a week from life, with the model, in the afternoons and evenings and in the mornings, under natural light, we would paint still life assignments or develop personal ideas into large compositional drawings.  I was introduced to Constructive Anatomy, Composition and Colour as taught at the renowned Repin Academy in St Petersburg, Russia, where Sergey himself was trained and taught for several years.
